We couldn’t be more pleased to share this recent score and tasting note by the editors at Decanter magazine:

Villa Sandi NV Asolo Prosecco Superiore Nero Extra Brut
94 Points
Decanter

“Sourced from their estate on the eastern border of the denomination, this Extra Brut has lime blossom and savoury herbs with a hint of citrus on the nose and a palate with crisp intensity and lingering mineral finish. An exemplary Prosecco in line with the high quality range of this well-known house.”

*****

Located just a stone’s throw from the hills of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, the Asolo Prosecco DOCG has sometimes been considered a bit of an outsider. But as this wine shows, it’s an ideal place for the production of Prosecco.

Thanks to the fertility of the soil and the breathtaking landscape, the Asolo hills have been a top countryside vacation destination since the aristocratic families of Venice first began to visit there in the 15th century. They built magnificent villas in the area and they began growing grapes to produce fresh white wines, a tradition that continues today.

In the Asolo appellation, grape growers enjoy perfect conditions for making crisp, fruit-driven sparkling wines.

Villa Sandi, including the estate’s gorgeous 17th-century Palladian villa, is a place where nature and architecture live together in perfect harmony. The clean, neo-classical design of the villa is set against the ordered tapestry of the vineyard rows — a sight to see!

Aromatic bubbles deliver classic floral and fruity notes together with a pronounced minerality. The distinct character of this wine is reflected in its elegant luxury packaging. A go-to aperitif, this wine is also ideal with delicate first courses thanks to its low residual sugar.
